It is particularly noteworthy that 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of this premier industry event. Since its inaugural edition in 1996, InnoTrans has grown into the world's largest and most influential trade fair for rail transport technology and infrastructure.

Over the years, the participation of Chinese companies has increased significantly. The number of Chinese exhibitors has grown from just 12 in 2008 to 160 in 2024, demonstrating remarkable momentum and growing international recognition.

In recent years, Chinese railway equipment manufacturers have continued to improve their technological capabilities while maintaining strong cost competitiveness. Industry estimates indicate that the production costs of Chinese railway products are approximately 10–15% lower than those of comparable European suppliers. Meanwhile, with deepening technological cooperation between China and Europe and the ongoing expansion of markets along the Belt and Road Initiative, Chinese companies are gaining increasing opportunities in the European railway sector.
